ProCare Family Dental Hosts Educational Event for Local Students at The Academy in Skokie
Skokie, IL – October 2, 2024 – ProCare Family Dental proudly participated in a meaningful community outreach event aimed at educating young children on the importance of oral health. Dr. Antonio Ganios and Dr. Penelope Danos, the practice’s esteemed doctors, were joined by a local kindergarten class for an engaging and interactive session designed to promote healthy dental habits from an early age.
The primary objective of the event was to teach the students about essential oral health practices, including proper brushing techniques, the significance of flossing, and how their food choices can impact their teeth. To make the lesson more engaging, Dr. Ganios and Dr. Danos utilized a large mouth model, oversized teeth, and a giant toothbrush, which helped simplify complex concepts and kept the young audience captivated.
Held at The Academy in Skokie, the classroom setting created an intimate space for students to learn and ask questions freely. The children’s enthusiastic responses were encouraging, with many expressing surprise about the importance of brushing after their last meal of the day. The most memorable moment occurred when the students gathered around the large teeth model, eagerly touching it and showing genuine excitement about what they had learned.
This event was not only an opportunity to give back to the community but also an embodiment of ProCare Family Dental’s commitment to fostering lifelong healthy habits. The practice’s mission to promote oral health education was reflected in the positive atmosphere created during the event. The students’ curiosity and excitement further inspired the team to continue hosting similar outreach events, including their ongoing sponsorship of the Morton Grove Park District, which promotes local health and wellness initiatives.
“We are thrilled to be able to make such a meaningful impact on these young minds and lay the foundation for lifelong oral health,” said Dr. Danos. “It’s rewarding to see the children so excited to take care of their teeth, and we look forward to continuing these efforts in the future.”
This event marks the beginning of what will hopefully become an annual tradition. ProCare Family Dental encourages the community to stay updated on future outreach efforts by following the practice on social media or contacting the office directly for more information on how to get involved.
